We, MICWARE CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Kobe, Hyogo, Japan; President and Chairman: Kenji Narushima, "MICWARE") began offering "Mvcube for Taxi," a safe driving support service for taxi using a communication-type drive recorder, on October 1, 2023 as the first step in commercial development of "Mvcube™," a recording data distribution service.
The service of "Mvcube for Taxi" uses the STZ-DR10 communication type drive recorder manufactured by JVC KENWOOD Corporation ("JVC KENWOOD",) and the terminal management and OTA (Over The Air, via wireless) technology uses "Vieureka Manager" by Vieureka Co., Ltd. ("Vieureka").
MICWARE and Daiwa Motor Transportation Co., Ltd. ("Daiwa Motor Transportation",) have already decided to introduce the service at Daiwa Motor Transportation, and MICWARE and Daiwa Motor Transportation are currently discussing the possibility of collaboration in new fields utilizing the outside image data collected by the drive recorder.
In the future, by expanding the service to industries other than taxi, we will increase the regional coverage rate of recorded data and contribute to the creation of a safe and secure automotive society and regional development through the provision of new services that utilize the collected video images.
■Features of "Mvcube for Taxi"
"Mvcube for Taxi" contributes to the digital transformation (DX) of taxi business enterprise through a
vehicle information management service that enables real-time acquisition of information on registered
vehicles.
・Immediate situation assessment is possible, by acquiring images via communication during accident and
emergency response
・Support safe taxi operation with functions such as driving diagnosis and hazardous point extraction
In addition, by utilizing the collected drive recorder images outside the vehicle, new business value can be created, such as by making it possible to use the system for town safety and disaster monitoring applications without installing surveillance vehicles or surveillance cameras.
■Features of "Mvcube™," recorded data distribution service
① Collaboration with multiple information services to identify target locations and efficient collecting of footage
Mvcube™ collaborates with multiple information services including providers of information on
weather/natural disasters, mobility/mobile devices, roads, and facilities to narrow down the places to
be monitored.
Footage from various cameras installed thoughout cities, including vehicle drive recorders,
surveillance/security cameras, smartphones, and more is analyzed, and only screened images are selected
and collected in the Mvcube cloud.
Since only the footage deemed really necessary is collected, this efficient video collection system
can reduce communication costs for collecting footage and cloud/storage costs for storing it.
② Screened footage is analyzed in a way that suits its intended purpose and used for various services
By analyzing footage screened according to its intended use and based on conditions like weather conditions, disaster conditions, traffic congestion conditions, accident conditions, road conditions, and so on, and by highlighting for viewing only information that is strictly necessary, the service significantly reduces the burden on management and monitoring personnel.
